Lisbon Oceanarium

Lisbon Oceanarium

A visit to the Oceanário de Lisboa is a unique experience that allows you to see and feel the unforgettable magic of the underwater world. Embark on this contemplative journey to discover 8,000 marine creatures from 500 different species.
The permanent exhibition (Aquarium) celebrates life on Earth with a central 5 million liter saltwater aquarium surrounded by four marine habitats representing the North Atlantic, Antarctic, Temperate Pacific, and Tropical Indian Oceans, creating the illusion of being in a single aquarium and a single ocean.
The visit takes place on two levels, terrestrial and underwater, crossing the temperate, tropical, and cold waters of the planet’s different oceans.
You can also discover the “Submerged Forests”, a work by the master Takashi Amano that introduces us to tropical forests through the largest “nature aquarium” in the world, and the new “Submerged Universe” exhibition, an immersive journey into the immensity of the ocean.
